Join The Movement

Be part of a movement to demand action on climate change. Vote Earth by turning off your lights during Earth Hour and recruit your friends, family, neighbors, school or workplace. Make a difference every day by learning what you can do to combat climate change.

On Earth Hour hundreds of millions of people, organizations, corporations and governments around the world will come together to make a bold statement about their concern for climate change by doing something quite simple—turning off their lights for one hour.

Participation is easy. By flipping off your lights on March 27th at 8:30 p.m. local time you will be making the switch to a cleaner, more secure nation and prosperous America. View the toolkits, to find out what else you can do to get involved including leading the Earth Hour movement in your community.

Wine & Cheese.. Yes Please!

I have a new found love for wine bars. There is something about the pairing of exclusive wines and world selection of cheeses, those small plates of tasty morsels, the mid tempo music, the ambiance of it all.. I'll have seconds, please!

This past weekend, with the boyfriend away, I enjoyed a nice girls' night getaway to the beautiful city of San Francisco where we drank and ate the night away at one of the many great wine lounges this wonderful city has to offer-- Nectar.

My drink of choice-- Flights! I had the Santa Barbara Flight; a taste of 3 of Santa Barbara's best. A "taste" may be an understatement since they were quite generous on the portions, but who's complaining?!

My suggestion-- Anything But Chard Flight.

Our snack of choice-- combo of 3 cheese & salami platter, black truffle popcorn, buratta salad, pizzetta.

All in all, a fantastic night! And I'm thirsty for more. If you live in the Bay Area and have a recommendation.. please do not hesitate. *cheers*

FINALLY..

BE. a part of the family

After nearly a year of unemployment and 5- intense months of hardcore job hunting, finally.. say hello to the newly employed! This past year has had its ups and downs, highs and lows. Opportunity came but once in a blue moon and it has been my biggest challenge fighting against what most considered a losing battle. It wasn't easy. And certainly not without its fair share of rejections and letdowns-- from GAP to Levi's to Sephora, and yes, Bare Escentuals themselves (I interviewed with them, not once but twice before, and twice I was turned down.) Despite it all, it was always about finding what was right for me. After countless interviews and endless networking, I guess it's true what they say, 3rd times a charm. This.. THIS feels just right. March 29, 2010 marks a new day, a new chapter in my life.. and I cannot wait!

p.s. A much owed THANKS to my boss/ mentor, C.F. None of this could have been possible if it were not for you. Thank you for giving me that extra well needed motivational push.

Have you experience BE?

A Walk to Remember

McQ.

Alexander McQueen's final collection-- a 16- piece collection-- made its debut today in Paris. Artworks by Jean Fouquet, Sandro Boticelli, Stephan Lochner, Hans Memling, Hugo van der Goes and Hieronymus Bosch were captured digitally and transferred onto red, gold and silver dresses embellished with ornate embroideries.

One word: Genius. The world of fashion will never be the same. RIP.
